摘要

This study is to investigate the damage assessment of adjacent brick structures due to tunnelling inrnurban environment. Model tests were carried out with 2 story masonry buildings in various shapes andrnlocations in sand. Three dimensional settlement curves for tunnelling were adapted to simulate thernstate of ground movement at various stages of construction. The damage level of adjacent structuresrnshowed considerable variations in accordance with the shape ratio(length/height) of structures,rnconstruction stages, and locations. In order to protect the most weak part(bay) of brick structures,rnideally instrumented and monitoring system for building behaviour are essential at early stage ofrnconstructions. The prediction of damage levels for the adjacent structures could be possible byrnapplying observational technique associated with the results of the model tests.
