The proposed semi-automatic video editing method allows the modification of object-based content of natural video sequences, while the human interaction has been reduced at much as possible. The experiments carried out on real video sequences have shown that it is possible to strongly modify even the trajectory of non-rigid objects such as a human, and obtained realistic modified sequences. The main limitations of the proposed method is related to the modification of object orientations generated by rotations around axis parallel to the image plane which is not always possible if the object cannot be considered as planar and which cannot exceed a maximum of +- 90° . Furthermore, in the case of non-rigid object, it is not really possible to totally modify the original trajectory. In that case, only a global modification of the original trajectory is possible. The main perspectives of this work are related to the use of techniques for 3D-scene background and object reconstruction in order to allow an automatic detection of the evolution areas and to avoid the limitations related to the modification of the orientation object/camera.
