In order to optimize the running of a wireless or hybrid local network, it is important to know the exact physical position of the mobile stations inside the network. This parameter could help to ' improve the routing's algorithm. In a former article, we've described our proposition of a locating system based on the at the time of flight (TOF) measurement of an ultrasonic signal. After building prototype of this system, it seemed important to build a model to simulate the running of the system through OPNET, a network simulator. As OPNET 's channel models are inadequate to describe indoor environments, we were led to develop it.
