DIDERO 3G: A Strategic network planning tool for 3G Mobile networks

摘要

The paper describes design tool 3GCDE ( 3G Cell Deployment Emulator). This tool is part of the project DIDERO 3G (Design and Dimensioning of 3G mobile networks). The aim of the this project is to perform strategic planning of a third generation mobile network. This strategic plannig will drive a 3G network operator to strategic decissions about where and when deploy his 3G network by viability studies. For this purpose an estimation of the cell deployment must be perfomed regarding several issues like multiservice traffic, radio propagation, technology, mobility, poupulation and so on. The article will describe theorical models and implementation methodology used in 3GCDE.
