By means of dynamic analyses and nonlinear static analyses (pushover), the effect of differentearthquake's components are studied on a truss and other structural elements of a industrial large spanstructure designed by international consultants. According to the results of the present document, for thiskind of structures the vertical seismic component could get a relative importance in the near field of theearthquakes. Additionally, was determined that this type of structures could have a critical dampingcoefficient in the order of 1,5% to 2% and reduction coefficients (R or Z) inferior to 3.0. Finally by meansof simplified analyses, the effect of the space variability of the seismic wave on structures whosedimensions in plant are in the order of magnitude of the wavelength of the seismic wave was determined.According to the analysis, the last effect could represent an important load combination for somestructural elements.
