Utilities have the ongoing mandates of making customer satisfaction, public health and safetyrncommitment, and regulatory compliance their goals. Sanitation District No. 1 of Northern Kentuckyrn(SD1) is meeting these challenges of our industry in several ways, including commissioning thernreview summarized by this report. But, as with many utilities, regulations and economics continue tornbe among the top concerns. This review was conducted from the perspectives provided by thernEffective Utility Management (EUM) framework to determine where and to what extent performancernimprovement opportunities exist in the current operation and for the future facilities now underrnconstruction. This review addresses the SD1 operation, including the core business functions ofrnOperation and Maintenance (O&M) of the wastewater facilities and infrastructure as well as thernsupporting Business Services functions generally associated with Engineering and Administrativernactivities such as CIP Management, HR, IT, Public Relations, and Finance.
