摘要

In this paper a back analysis for settlement parameters verification of the Karkheh powerhouse is presented. The geotechnical investigation studies done on the different layers of the foundation gave the consolidation parameters with large variance, which were not in accordance with the site observations. Therefore it was decided to use the parameters of the back analysis of the actual settlements of the inspection gallery, which were recorded systematically. A simple consolidation model was used in back analysis. The parameters extracted from this model were used for prediction of powerhouse settlement. For verifying the results of the back analysis and the settlement calculations, a monitoring system for powerhouse was employed. The measured settlements of the powerhouse during construction are in good accordance with the results obtained from the calculation. The results show that the settlement of the powerhouse is accepted.
