Gallium-66 (T1/2=9.49 h) is an interesting radionuclide that has potential for positron emissionrntomography (PET) imaging of biological processes in intermediate to slow target tissue uptake.66Ga wasrnproduced in the NRCAM cyclotron as a result of 15 MeV proton bombardment of 66Zn with current intensity ofrn180 μA (yield 11.2 mCi/μAh). Bleomycin (BLM) was labeled with [66Ga]GaCl3 for its possible diagnosticrnproperties. The complex formation yield was optimized for pH, time, temperature, and ligand:radioactivity ratio.rnRadio-TLC showed an overall radiochemical yield of >98% (radiochemical purity > 98%). The stability of therncomplex was checked in vitro.
