Optimization of simultaneous diffraction of two lightwaves in BSO by means of variation of their polarization

Abstract: The influence of the piezoelectric effect and photoelastic properties of cubic photorefractive crystals on simultaneous diffraction of two light waves on the holographic grating has been studied theoretically and experimentally. The possibilities of optimization of light intensity pumping-over have been investigated. It is shown that the piezoelectric effect and the photoelasticity greatly influence the conditions of optimization of the light intensity pumping- over. !18
