摘要

Electrical, mechanical, and chemical properties of electrodeposited carbon fiber composites were investigated using electro-micromechanical techniques and nondestructive acoustic emission (AE). Electrical resistivity (ER) depends on the surface treatments and diameter and fiber properties. Tensile and compressive loads were applied to single-fiber composites (SFC) to compare the differing microfailure modes via AE. Diagonal slippages in fiber ends were observed under compressive test, whereas cone-shape matrix crack appeared under tensile test.
