Evaluation of entry corridor for descending meteorological sounding probes

摘要

The entry corridor of descending sounding probes is evaluated taking into account the limits of maximum deceleration and thermal heating due to atmospheric drag. Thermal analysis is given by an analytical method leading to simple formulas allowing a fast and easy design of the thermal protection shells.
