Fuse Auto-changeover system is a comprehensive system designed to Monitor & Backup fuses of various ratings for Indian railway signaling installations. The system can detect up to 16/24/32 fuses of 12v, 24v, 60v, 110v DC & AC. Traditional system used digital circuits to achieve the monitoring & changeover. Later system which incorporated microprocessor or micro controllers also employed the same for monitoring & changeover thus providing limited connectivity information such as a single potential free contact for an entire unit of 16 to 32 fuses. However, the proposed system incorporates a unique digital bus to propagate individual fuse status from each motherboard of 4 fuses in a unit of 16 to 32 fuses to the main/master unit controller which in turn provide the detailed status of main as well as standby fuses numbering from 16 to 32 fuses on a two wire RS485 bus with the hardware serial number or machine address of the system. Up to 255 units of fuse auto-changer system can be connected to a single RS485bus thus the proposed system provides a unique method of monitoring up to 32X2X255 fuses on a single RS485 bus.
