This paper can be considered as a continuation of 'Friction Experiments for Filament Winding Part 1: Mandrel Shape and Machine Control' [1]. The main objective of this paper is the presentation and discussion of the experimental results obtained for the friction coefficients reflecting on the interaction between rovings and mandrel during filament winding. The performed experiments correspond to various filament winding process related parameters like fibre speed, roving tension, fibre dimensions and materials, wet vs. dry winding, and surface quality of the mandrel. The results remarkably indicate that wet winding provides elevated friction values when compared to dry winding. In addition, a smooth surface provides generally lower friction coefficients. The fibre speed, tension and material seem not to considerably influence the obtained friction values. Nevertheless, Carbon fibres generate slightly more friction than Glass fibres.
