We propose a 3D display that allows multiple viewers to see 3D images from 360° without wearing special glasses. It displays 3D images as reconstructions of ray-space/light field within cylindrical objective space, and thus it is suitable for displaying 3-D images of real objects. We have developed several prototype display systems, and the latest one is capable of displaying 3D color video images within a diameter and height of 200 and 256 mm, respectively. Images are described by a resolution of 1254 pixels circularly and 256 pixels vertically, with a refresh rate of 30 Hz. The angular interval of the ray is less than 1°. Accordingly, viewers barely perceive discrete parallax. Using this display, we succeeded in reconstruction of ray-space from a real object captured by a video camera rotating around the object.
