The Study on Teaching Pattern ofEnglish + Specialty (International Building Contracting)

English is a tool, or a specialty, which is still a question to be differed. As for thernteaching research of English study, we’ve taken it as specialty for years. We used to think thatrnEnglish major should embody liberal education only. However, the entry to the WTO and thernchange of the conception of qualified personnel made us thinking that what kind of teachingrnpattern should be more suitable to train the students required by the building industry and tornmeet the needs of reform and open-door policy of our country, as well as internationalization ofrnconstruction market. The paper, according to the surveys of some building companies in foreignrnconstruction market and the requirement of the internationalization of the construction market inrnour country, puts forward the teaching pattern of English + specialty (international buildingrncontracting), which tries to integrate English learning with specialty and to solve the problems ofrn“speaking English without understanding building engineering or understanding buildingrnengineering but unable to speak English”.
