摘要

The International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (OGP)rnhas been collecting global E&P safety performance data sincern1985. The industry’s safety performance over this period hasrnshown substantial improvement. However in recent years littlernchange has been reported in the rate at which fatalities arernoccurring (ie the Fatal Accident Rate, FAR).rnAnalysis of the safety data shows transportation to be arnmajor contributor to these fatalities. For example, in the datarncollected for the year 2000, of the 148 fatalities reportedrn(which includes contractor, company and third partyrnindividuals) at least 41 were related to transport incidents.rnThe paper reviews the global industry safety performancernover the past ten years, with specific attention to thosernfatalities associated with land transportation.rnIt is shown that vehicle related incidents have been therngreatest single cause of fatalities in the E&P industry over thernperiod reviewed. Analysis of the OGP database shows nornevidence of a decrease in the rate of land transport relatedrnfatalities over the period.
