In 1999, Central and South West Services Corporation began a program to install 76 kW of PV on 19 public elementary, middle, and high schools located in the service territories of three of its electric utility operating companies (West Texas Utilities, which operates in west Texas; Central Power and Light, which operates in south Texas; and Southwestern Electric Power Company, which operates in east Texas, southwest Arkansas, and western Louisiana).
