摘要

Expansive soil is a kind of “trouble” soil which is not easy to be treated in engineering, as it hasrnthe characteristics of strong swell-shrink, developing fissures and over-consolidation. A method of reinforcingrnexpansive soil with soilbags has been proposed, and verified to be effective by laboratory and fied tests. Thisrnpaper introduces the principle of reinforcing expansive soil with soilbags. The swell overburden tests andrnswell pressure tests are carried out on soilbags filled with expansive soil, verifying the effectiveness of soilbagsrnto enhance the strength and restrict the swelling deformation of expansive soil.
