摘要

This study showed that perigraft tissue ingrowth played a crucial role in the healing process of polyester arterial prosthesis in canine. Blocking perigraft tissue ingrowth resulted in incomplete neointima formation and absent endothelialization on the polyester arterial prostheses. The novel experimental model used in this study provided a powerful tool to investigate the different designs in vascular prostheses. This model could also save a significant number of animals while providing more comparable results.
