摘要

It is believed that perigraft tissue ingrowth to the prosthetic wall plays a significant role in the healing of synthetic vascular prosthesis. For example, a good integration of the prosthesis with the perigraft tissue will physically stabilize the graft and prevent the graft from kink and infection. It is also suggested that endothelialization may also benefit from such tissue ingrowth. On the other hand, excessive perigraft tissue ingrowth may contribute to the neointima hyperplasia. However, because of the lack of effective method to regulate external tissue ingrowth and the lack of appropriate control, it has been difficult to obtain direct evidence on the impact of tissue ingrowth.
