摘要

These studies show that mechanical properties and swell ratio decreased as y-irradiation dose increased. The addition of addi-tives slightly affected the mechanical properties and swell ratio. Swell ratio more reduced in vacuum-irradiation than air-irradiation. Therefore, y-irradiation in vacuum state promotes cross-linking. The cross-linking may enhance the wear performance of UHMWPE, but reduce the mechanical properties by the irradiation.
