The objeictve of this paper is to ocmpare the implicit and explict finite element analysis (FEA) mehtods for the simulation of sheet forming processes.The salient features in the finite element analysis of such processes are summarized.The general purpose FEA code,MARC,is used to analyze two examples of sheet forming processes with different forming conditions using obht the implicit and explicit procedures.The accourcy,computatianl efficiency and robustness of th two approahces are compared and discussed.In additin.particular attention has been paid to the ability of each mehtod in dealing with wrinklin and springback phenomena.
