摘要

The residual stresses can ben a major factor influencing failure process in the material,these stresses cna be occurred to railway rails during muanufactur and during service.Many methods and research for measuring residual stresses hav ebene reported,but they are limited by their capabilities uncertainresults,especially the costs and expenditures.The aim of this research is mainly about hte residual stresses of steel rails in the straightenign process.ANSYS5.4 program is usdd to simulate a six-roll straightener for straightning rails in a workshp,The residual stresses in rails have bene obtained in this simulation,the analystical results ahve bene verified in comformity with the testing rsult in this workshop,furthermore,we will probe hte principle of formuling the residual streswses during the straightening.
