With the continually changing nature of technology and the fragmentedrndelivery of professional development on campus, IndianarnState University was looking for new methods of providing technologyrntraining to faculty. After years of providing the standardrninstructor-led training in word processing, spreadsheets, presentationrnsoftware, and email, the training unit was dissolved andrnmerged with Instructional and Research Technology Services, arnnew unit on campus, whose vision is to engage internal and externalrnaudiences in collaborative efforts that enhance opportunitiesrnfor faculty and students in their application of innovative instructionalrnand research technologies. This merger also allows newrnopportunities for collaboration with the Center for Teaching andrnLearning, a unit responsible for supporting, promoting, and enhancingrnquality teaching at Indiana State University through arnbroad range of programs, services, and resources. This paper andrnpresentation describes how technology training, instead of being arndisconnected afterthought, has now become an integral part of arnmulti-dimensional professional development program for faculty.
