摘要

This paper presents a software framework for supporting maintainability assessment of products during design. It is proposed that the simulation of physical realism and intelligent virtual humans are important for supporting maintainability assessment and maintenance training. The state-of-the-art in physically-based modelling and virtual agents are presented. Current research towards realising the proposed software framework, at the Centre for Virtual Environments at Salford is presented.
