摘要

Phase transformation followed by cold deformation by rolling has been used in a study of structural refinement in interstitial free (IF) steels. A lath martensite structure is obtained by austenitization and quenching and this structure is characterised in detail by different microscopical techniques. The evolution in this structure during cold rolling from low to high strains is analysed and compared with the structural evolution during cold rolling of IF steel where the initial structure is an annealed polycrystalline ferrite grain structure.
