Bending and buckling of circular sandwich orthotropic plates with corrugated cores

The subject of the study is a circular sandwich plate with corrugated main core and three-layerfaces. The cores of the faces are made of homogeneous isotropic polyurethane foam. The plate is a thin-walledstructure with three cores: one main – in the middle, and two others – internal layers of faces and four sheets. Thecorrugation of the main core is along the radius. The field of displacements, strains, and stresses are formulatedbasing on the Zig-Zag hypothesis. The system of partial differential equations of equilibrium for the circularsandwich plate is derived based on the principle of stationary total potential energy. Moreover, for verificationof the results a Finite Element Model (FEM – ANSYS – system) for the plate is formulated. The bending andbuckling analysis was carried out to determine the critical load and buckling shape. Comparison of the resultsobtained in the analytical and numerical (FEM) analysis is shown in figures.
