We report numerical studies of the electromagnetic wave transmission through a two-dimensional photonic quasicrystal (PQC) based on a rhombic Penrose tiling. We find a frequency range where the wavelength in the array is especially large. The direction of propagating waves emerging from such an array can be controlled by adjusting the array's shape. Moreover, we show that due to the quasiperiodic structure, high transmission can be achieved by "tunneling" through the chain of localized resonant states.
