Developing Brazil’s Onshore EP Oil Activities and Reducing the Country’s Exposition to the Economic Cycles of the Global Oil Market

Brazil has been developeding strong offshore E&P oilrnactivities. The objective of this paper is to propose alternativernpolicies for Brazil to boost onshore activities, reducing itsrnexposure to the economic cycles of the petroleum business. Inrnparticular, new contract mechanisms should allow for a morernattractive splitting of risks between the country and investors;rninducing favorably the latter’s investment decisions.
