摘要

The determination of die-open directions is one of the major considerations in die design, which ensuues successful ejection of the part fro mthe die. The die-open directions can be automatically determined based on the geometric data of a part. This paper describes method employing feature recognition technology and face accessibility analysis to determine the die-open directions. The 3D boundary representation (B-rep) solid model is used for geometric reasoning. Parts with planar faces nad quadratic faces are considered. Only linear die-ipen motion is discussed.
