CLSM imaging of florescence stained organelles and a Pt-mesh enzyme electrode with alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) were applied simultaneously to evaluate the effect of ultrasonic treatment (UT) on Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeast). The biosensor has successfully monitored the ethanol increase as the product of an-aerobic metabolism with no CLSM fluorescence change in yeast UT. On the contrary, the CLSM fluorescence increased without alcohol production in the sample damaged by UT.
