We theoretically investigate the influence of the curvature of a surface on 2D electron gas it contains. The most striking effect is the dependence of the electron energy spectrum on the relative sign of the effective spin-orbit constant alpah and the curvature (for a planar system the spectrum doesn't depend on the sign of alpha ). We predict shifts of the steps in the conductance of curved narrow strip (cylindrical sector).
