Extension of the Hanstholm harbour (Denmark) is being planned,rnincluding the construction of a new breakwater. Within the generalrnframe of the development plan of the harbour, numerical modelling hasrnbeen carried out using the mild-slope model MILDwave developed atrnGhent University, for estimating the wave conditions along the plannedrnbreakwater, close to the Danish Wave Energy Centre (DanWEC).rnNumerical results of the wave climate in the study area are presentedrnhere, including validation of the performance of the wave breakingrnmodule implemented in MILDwave, showing very good agreementrnwith analytical (Goda’ method) and numerical results (SWAN-1D).
