摘要

Statistical regression techniques were devised and tested for directly estimating infrared and short-wave radiation fluxes at the top of the atmosphere from conventional variables available in numerical forecast models. The relations were developed on the basis of a screening technique which used observed radiation flux from the NOAA 2and 3satellites as predictands,and predictors derived from variables available in the National Meteorological Center's Limited Fine Mesh Model.
