THE FRENCH EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAMME ON BURNUP CREDIT

The extensive experimental programme developed at CEA-Cadarache, to allow reactivity burnup credit in PWR and MOX spent fuel calculations, is described. Chemical analysis of PWR pins supplied the fuel inventory, i.e., Actinides and Fission Products. Reactivity worth measurements of the various BUC nuclides were performed in the Minerve reactor by an oscillation technique. The Calculation-Experiment analysis based on the current CRIBLE criticality-safety calculation package is presented. The improvement in the Calculation-Experiment agreement due to the new CR1STAL-JEF2 package is discussed.
