An experiment was conducted in a linear cascadernapparatus having a partial admission region in order torninvestigate the effect of partial admission on a blade row.rnThe admission region was formed by a spouting nozzlerninstalled at the inlet of the linear cascade apparatus. Therntested blade was axial-type and its chord was 200mm. Thernblades moved along the rotational direction in front of thernadmission region, and then operating forces and surfacernpressures on the blades were measured at the steady state.rnThe experiment was conducted at Reynolds number ofrn3x105 based on the chord. The nozzle flow angle was setrnto 65o with solidity of 1.38 for performance test at therndesign point. In addition, flow structures were measuredrnin vertical plane located downstream of the cascade blade.rnTotal pressure losses were compared after moving therncascade along the pitchwise.
