The DRAGON grid, as a hybrid grid, is created by means of a Direct Replacement of Arbitrary Grid Overlapping by Nonstructured grid. The DRAGON grid scheme is an adaptation to the Chimera thinking, and is capable of completely eliminating the interpoaltion and preserving the conservation proerty. It maximizes the advantages of the Chimera scheme and adapts the strengths of the unstructured grid while at the same time keeping its weaknesses minimal. In the present paper, we describe the progress towards extending the DRAGON grid technology into three dimensions, and demonstrate the capability of generating computational grids and performing 3D flwo calcualtions for multi-components complex configurations.
