Information systems have focussed on controlling therndecision-making environment, whereas in real life groupsrnoperate in an uncontrolled, asynchronous environment. Inrnthis paper we examine existing information systemrnresearch on groups, analyze the role played by the processrnenvironment on the quality of group decisions, and arguernthe need for information systems for uncontrolledrndynamic environments.
