摘要

This paper discusses the use of multiple buildingrnperformance simulation tools to support the design ofrna state-of-the-art intelligent library building inrnSingapore. Building performance simulation toolsrnthat include energy analysis program, computationalrnfluid dynamics (CFD) and daylighting models arernutilized throughout the design process to evaluaternvarious proposed design schemes, to study the impactrnof multiple design parameters and to assess thernpotential of certain design strategies and proposedrnsystems on energy, ventilation, thermal comfort asrnwell as day-lighting performance of the building. Thernpaper also highlights the difficulties encounteredrnduring the process and recommendations tornovercome the difficulties are discussed.
