To solve rutting problems of airport asphalt pavement, authors attempt to introduce solar reflective materials onto the surface of airport asphalt pavement to reduce the pavement temperature. This is called solar reflective airport pavement. However it is not clearly understood how long the function of the solar reflective airport pavement such as the temperature suppression effect and the surface friction resistance will maintain under heavy airplane loads. To investigate the durability of the solar reflective airport pavement, three types of experiment were performed in this study. The details of experiment methods will be presented in this paper. Based on the experiment results, several findings were achieved and they will be also described.
