Taking Advantage of Building Information Model

摘要

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate advantagesrnthat can be gained in the in-door mobile robotics due to properrnuse of modeling techniques developed in the AEC-industry. Inrnparticular, a consistent object-oriented description of the buildingrn(BIM-format) can considerably simplify mapping and navigationrnproblems. We discuss the ways how such description can berntransformed into the format suitable for mobile robots and howrnthe information gained by the robot exploring the building can berntransferred back into the BIM-format.
