To improve the polarity of polypropylene (PP) packaging materials, Glycidyl methacrylate andStyrene were applied as co-monomer and grafted onto polypropylene molecules by radiation method. Theproperties of grafted PP films were characterized by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), contact angleinstrument and mechanical measurement. The results showed that the polarity, printability, lamination performanceand thermal stability of PP film increased after grafting which demonstrates that grafting by radiationis an effective way to broaden the application of ordinary PP materials.
