Abstract: Under high concentrations of photochromic disubstituted indigo in glassy poly(methylmethacrylate) (0.1 - 0.5 mol.%) photoinduced form thermoisomerization rate and corresponding relaxation rate of optical absorption decrease significantly due to molecular aggregates formation. Three-fold and more acceleration of the thermoisomerization process was revealed under increased photoirradiation doses and related to photoinduced disaggregation of photochromic molecules. The effect may be used for optical image processing, for example, contrast reversal.!9
