摘要

In order to improve quality of continuously cast metal, an investigation was carried out by imposing multi-electromagnetic fields from the outside of a cold-crucible copper mold. The meniscus behavior was investigated in molten gallium as simulation of molten steel. Sn-4.5%wt Pb as another simulation of steel was continuously cast under different conditions. The experimental results show that multi-electromagnetic field can control the meniscus disturbance generated by electromagnetic stirring and eliminates surface defects of cast metal, and solidification structure of cast metal was fined.
