URBAN STREAM RESTORATION STRUCTURES

Urban stream restoration is important for improving habitat quality and aquatic ecosystems, which are subject to continuous degradation due to urbanisation and its consequences. Different structures can be used to control the changes and the dynamics of streams with environmentally friendly solutions. The choice must be based on the stream and watershed characteristics. Restoration structures must be monitored and continuously adapted to changing conditions in order to attain the chosen restoration objectives.
