This paper examines the role of multimedia technologies in the learning. I describe three my activities that have involved the use of multimedia technologies in educational processes in College and University. One has been developed for a first-year undergraduate course of Mathematics at the Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio, University of Italian Switzerland. It is an example of the use of multimedia technologies in support to the traditional educational tools. Second activity has been developed at the Department of Electronic - Politeenico of Torino (Italy) in the field of computer based training in electronic instrumentation and measurements using some multimedia solutions. It is a project where students have produced, fir their graduation thesis, some multimedia applications to explain electronic instrumentation. Third activity has been developed for my PH-D in Science of Communication at University of Italian Switzerland. It is a constructivist model and it involves a new educational approach that I have named: "Learning by Doing, and Creating". Thirty students (Senior Secondary School) have searched (using the traditional media and the Internet) information on Neural Networks and they have built an hypermedia on this subject. In this way, they have built their knowledge, too.
