The use of pH buffers is frequent to achieve separations or study mobilities in Capillary Zone Electrophoresis (CZE). Nevertheless, when it is necessary to impose several pH values it could be used the same or different buffers. In the first case it could happens to attempt to impose pH values in regions where buffer capacity of the system is low while in the second case the different nature of ions in buffers could have an effect over the mobility of the different species in study. When physico-chemical parameters are obtained by CZE measurements to impose pH values with a good buffer capacity could be crucial but until our knowledge reaches it is not frequent the use of wide pH range buffers, as Britton-Robinson buffer (1, 2). This work deals with electroosmotic mobility of aqueous solutions of Britton-Robinson buffer as a function of pH.
