The invention relates to the use of a complex of 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-N, N ', N' '- triacetic acid with a metal ion of oxidation degree + III chosen from gallium (III ), indium (III) and iron (III) as an electrically neutral marker of the electroosmotic mobility of the analytes contained in an aqueous solution to be analyzed using a capillary electrophoresis (CE) device connected by direct coupling to a mass spectrometer selected from an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS), an atomic emission mass spectrometer (ICP-OES) and an electrospray source mass spectrometer (ESI-MS).
