The emerging industry of Regenerative Medicine is forecasted see double digit growth in the next 5 years [1]. As of 2016, there are over 700 companies worldwide and billions of dollars invested. Out of the different categories of Regenerative Medicines, cell-based and gene therapies are closer to the market with over 500 clinical trials in Phase II and III [2]. Currently, many of these therapies are targeted at refractory or orphan indications. However, as public awareness about such therapies increases, there is an even greater amount of pressure to accelerate the development of such therapies and get them approved for mainstream treatment of cancers and extend them for other indications.
