Rediscovery of Empathy in Youth through an Interactive Virtual Reality Experience

The rise in modern technology during this era has skyrocketed into new heights and advancing in more ways than one. With the development of technology, it was observed that many youths lacked empathy and had a higher rate of narcissism. This selfishness also leads one to be blinded by the injustice which is happen widely in war. It focuses on the rediscovery of empathy among youth and raise interest in humanitarianism. The medium used to depict the story was by using the virtual reality medium. The use of virtual reality was to understand the efficiency of immenseness and interactivity in virtual reality into eliciting empathy. A qualitative survey was conducted both prior and after the display of the project. By the end of the experience, it can be concluded that interactive virtual reality has the ability to evoke empathy.
